At this point in your putting your PLR to use journey you are ready to start creating a sales page for your new report. Some PLR packs have an HTML sales page that you can use. It will need editing to add your details to it and you can then upload the files to your server. In a similar manner to how we uploaded our report in my last post.
Creating a Sales Page in HTML
The worst part of using these pages is when it comes to editing them. You will need to use some type of HTML editor to add your own details, change the image and link your buy button to the payment processor.
While this sounds easy enough it can be really tricky to make these changes without messing up the layout of the page.
On the upside, and this is from my experience this week, if you site goes down you can still access your HTML pages inside your Cpanel. This might be an option you want to keep in mind if you are planning on having lots of sales pages.
Creating a Sales Page in WordPress
This is the option that I currently use and I customize my pages by using the Thrive plugin. This plugin will work on your wordpress theme, but I do find that it works best if you use one of their specific themes.
The thing I love about the Thrive products is that they are always being updated and improved. Plus more themes are being introduced all the time. One of the latest additions was adding a content learning module, called apprentice. This can be used in conjunction with a membership site to create lessons.
Anyway back to creating a sales page. The easiest way to do this is use your current wordpress theme and add a new page. Create your new page and then scroll down and visit the Layout Section.
Now it is just a matter of adding your content and images into your page. You can still use the content from your HTML page that came with your PLR pack. Upload any images as you normally would, this includes the buy button if one was included.
As you add your content don’t forget to keep saving it as a draft and preview it to ensure that it looks good. Leave lots of white space and make your paragraphs short so it is easy to read.
Creating a Download Page
In addition to your sales page you want to create a download page for your report. You can use the same layout as your sales page. On this page you will just thank your customer for their purchase and tell them to download their report below.
You can add a download button if you wish, or just use the word Download Here and hyperlink it with your download link. Remember this is the path to your file inside your Cpanel account.
There is a lot more you can do with a download page to help make you more money. You could offer your customer another product to buy, maybe an audio version of your report. Or you could link to an affiliate product.
There are other ways to create a sales page, you can purchase a specific theme that does this. Examples of this would be Optimize Press or Profits theme. In this post I am just trying to provide you with an easy, simple solution so you can just get your first sales page up and running.
Please let me know if you have any further questions on this topic. The next post will be all about getting a buy button and taking payments.
